Wells Woman Injured in 1 Vehicle Accident on I-90 on Thursday Afternoon

An SUV crashed on Interstate 90 on Thursday Afternoon sending one person to the hospital.   The Minnesota State Patrol says 48 year old Kim Kastens, of Wells, was westbound on I-90, when she went off the road near mile marker 155 and rolled into the median.  The accident happened around 4:52pm.   Kastens was…read more »

MDH Report 1,525 New Coronavirus Cases and 21 more deaths on Friday

Minnesota health officials reported on Friday 1,525 new cases of the coronavirus and 21 more deaths.   According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 6,032 people have died because of the virus.  A total of 3,836 of those deaths have occurred in long term care facilities.   A total of 452,268 cases have been confirmed…read more »

Iowa Adds 1,319 New COVID-19 Cases and 33 More Deaths on Friday

MN Unemployment Rate Drops Slightly in December

Minnesota lost jobs in December for the second straight month.  December’s unemployment rate dropped slightly to 4.4% from 4.5% in November.   The Department of Employment and Economic Development says the slight dip was due to people leaving the labor force, at least temporarily and happened as Minnesota lost 49,800 jobs in December.read more »

One Injured When 2 Pickups Collide Near Vernon Center

One driver was injured when two pickups collided Wednesday afternoon, a few miles north of Vernon Center.   The State Patrol said 39 year old Joseph Harker, of Montevideo, was driving southbound on Highway 169 at 12:41pm, when his pickup collided with another pickup driven by 43 year old Matthew Potz, of Vernon Center.  …read more »
