The latest numbers from the Iowa Department of Public Health show 51 more Iowans have died from COVID-19 and 1,709 new cases have been reported on Thursday.
The number of new positive tests reported for the time period brings the total number of positive tests up to 309,277.
The data shows there have been 4,445 total deaths from the coronavirus in the state so far. Of those deaths, 1,829 were residents of long term care facilities.
