An early morning traffic stop last week in Emmet County resulted in the arrest of a Blue Earth man on felony drug charges.
Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens says shortly after 12:30am Wednesday morning a Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol in the 4500 block of Highway 9 initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation.
Upon investigation at the scene, the Sheriff’s Deputy discovered what was determined to be approximately an ounce of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the possession of a passenger in the vehicle.
As a result of the discovery, the passenger, 37 year old Matthew Bartz of Blue Earth, was placed under arrest and transported to the Emmet County Jail where he was booked on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine with the Intent to Deliver, a class B felony, Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, a class D felony, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
