President Biden Approves Disaster Declaration for Northern Iowa Counties

Iowa’s request for federal help for severe flooding has received a response from the White House.

President Joe Biden approved Iowa’s Disaster Declaration late Monday night.

President Biden has now ordered federal aid to support state, tribal and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms.

The impacted counties receiving the federal aid are Clay, Emmet, Lyon, Plymouth and Sioux.

Rock Valley in Northwest Iowa was one of the hardest hit areas in a weekend of severe flooding.

Thankfully, no deaths have been reported.  But hundreds of residents have been displaced from their homes.

Damage assessments are still ongoing and more counties may be included for additional support.
