Monday Morning Storms Bring Wind, Causing Damage to the Area

Storms early Monday morning caused some wind damage across southern Minnesota, as strong winds, frequent lightning and heavy rains moved through the area.

There were reports of trees and limbs down in the area, where some damage and power outages caused by downed trees were reported, as well as high winds in the area.  The roof was blown off the former Easton Elevator building and local fire departments were called to put out a fire there.

The damage spread east to Wells, where plenty of trees and limbs were down and even some of the siding blown off one building.  Damage was also reported in Mapleton from downed trees.  There have been no reports of any injuries from Monday morning’s storms.
