B.E. Council Receives Update on Riverside Heights Annexation and Other Projects

The Blue Earth City Council met on Monday and received an update from City Engineer Ben Rosol on various projects that included the proposed Riverside Heights Sewer Project, the Rice Street Project and the Putnam Park Tennis Courts which have seen some delays due to the wet weather.

City Attorney David Frundt presented a revised agreement between the city and the Blue Earth City Township concerning the city’s annexation of the Riverside Heights neighborhood.  The council passed the resolution for the five year agreement, that will go into effect on August 1st.

One issue that came up with Riverside Heights’ annexation dealt with which City of Blue Earth Ward the neighborhood will be in Ward 2 or Ward 3.

A special council meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 10th at 5pm, to vote to change the City Charter to make a new designation.
