Farmers Make Good Planting Progress Before the Weekend Rains in MN & Iowa Last Week

The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service released the crop progress report for Minnesota and Iowa for the week ending April 28th.  Fieldwork included tillage and planting before the weekend rains arrived.

In Minnesota, corn planted was 30% complete, one week ahead of last year.  Iowa corn planted reached 39% complete, 4 days ahead of last year.

Soybeans planted reached 14% in Minnesota, 9 days ahead of last year.  In Iowa, 25% of the soybean crop has been planted, which is 4 days ahead of last year.
