Crop Planting In MN and Iowa Well Ahead of Last Year According to the USDA

The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service released the crop progress report for Minnesota and Iowa for the week ending April 21st.  Fieldwork included tillage and planting of small grains and row crops.

In Minnesota, corn planted was at 8%, 9 days ahead of last year.  Iowa corn planted reached 13% complete, 3 days ahead of last year.

Soybeans planted reached 5% in Minnesota, 11 days ahead of last year.  In Iowa, 8% of the soybean crop has been planted, 4 days ahead of last year.
