Mapleton Man Facing Charges In Emmet County Iowa Following Traffic Stop

A Minnesota man is facing multiple  charges after a traffic stop was conducted last week west of Armstrong.

Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens says shortly before 11pm on March 15th, a Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol in Armstrong observed a vehicle traveling 10mph above the posted speed limit with an equipment violation and initiated a traffic stop.

Upon investigation at the scene, it was determined the driver of the vehicle was wanted for an active arrest warrant from Emmet County.  Controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol were also discovered in the vehicle.

As a result, 25 year old Lane Van Erdewyk of Mapleton, Minnesota was taken into custody for the warrant and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, open container and other charges.
