Producers are reminded that the deadline for the ARC/PLC program is fast approaching. Faribault County FSA Executive Director Nicki Miranowski says only 80% of producers in the county are complete with filing and there is no late filing for the program, which means if you miss a deadline and did not make an election, you will not receive a payment this fall if one is triggered.
Miranowski says for the most part, it’s a pretty quick process, just elect PLC, ARC County or ARC Individual. Even if you choose to do what you did last year, you still need to sign the paperwork for that election.
Miranowski says if producers had any farm record changes, it will take some extra time.
The deadline for election in ARC/PLC program is this Friday, March 15th.
