Rural Wells Man Injured Following Two Vehicle Crash on County Road 23 on Thursday

A rural Wells man was airlifted to Mankato following a crash on County Road 23 late Thursday Afternoon.

According to the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 5:26pm, a 2000 International Truck pulling a trailer, driven by 26 year old Caleb Hagedorn of Frost, was heading north on County Road 23.

Hagedorn slowed the truck and trailer down to turn right into a driveway, when a 2017 Dodge Ram, driven by 51 year old Steven Hargis of rural Wells, also heading northbound, collided with the rear of a trailer, causing severe damage.

Hargis was taken to United Hospital District Er and later airlifted to Mankato for further care.  A male Juvenile passenger, seated behind Hargis, suffered minor injuries.

Hagedorn sustained no apparent injuries during the crash.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Bricelyn Fire Department and Bricelyn Ambulance assisted at the scene.
