Faribault County Board Approves New Vehicle Purchases for the Sheriff’s Department

The Faribault County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday and approved the purchase of three squad cars for the Sherriff’s Office.

Commissioner John Roper says they’ve normally had an every other year rotation on squad car purchases, but they kind of got off during the pandemic, so this year they are ordering 3 new Trucks from Woodhouse Ford in Omaha, Nebraska had the lowest bid.

Roper adds that they’ll also be trading in five used pickups and squad cars to offset the new purchases.  The Sheriff’s Department is switching to all pickups because of the higher resale value.

The cost of the three 2023 Ford F150’s came in at $152,339, but with the estimated minimum trade value of $73,000 for all five used squads, the most the county will pay will be $79,339.
