Two of Three Former Armstrong City Officials Get Trial Dates

Trial dates have been set for two of the three former Armstrong City Officials charged nearly three years ago with misconduct in office.

Judge Jeffrey Neary, last month, granted change of venue motions made by defense attorneys.  The trials will now be held in Clay County District Court.

Former Armstrong Police Chief Craig Merril is scheduled to stand trial on June 4th on 21 misdemeanor and felony charges.

Former Mayor Greg Buum is scheduled to stand trial on October 1st.  He is also facing 21 misdemeanor and felony charges.

A trial date has not been set yet for former Armstrong City Clerk Connie Thackery.  Judge Neary recently amended Thackery’s bond from a $33,000 cash bond to a $25,000 unsecured bond.  Thackery is also charged with 21 misdemeanors and felonies.
