Faribault County Board Approves Road Construction Bids

The Faribault County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday and received an update on road conditions in the county from the Public Works Department.

Commissioner Bill Groskreutz says the board was updated on the bids of for the projects. The total engineers estimate was just over $8 million, Ulland Bros was awarded the project with their bit of just over$ 7.5 million.

This is for work that will be done on County Roads 11, 17, 23 and 51, with the construction to be finished by July 1st.

Groskreutz also says the personnel committee has had discussions with MnDOT about the open County Engineer position.  MnDOT gave the county some pointer and said that the salary being offered may have to be a bit high than what the county has been offering.

The personnel committee and commissioners will discuss the options at their next meeting, with the hopes of having the County Engineer position filled in the next few months.
