Gov Walz Visited Bevcomm in Blue Earth on Thursday

Governor Tim Walz was in Blue Earth Thursday morning to visit with Bevcomm officials to discuss the state’s progress expanding broadband access to thousands of Minnesotans.

Bevcomm CEO Bill Eckles and Bevcomm employees gave Governor Walz a tour of the Bevcomm warehouse and gave a demonstration of some of the equipment they use.

Over the last year, the state has provided enough funding to expand broadband to 46,000 Minnesota homes and businesses that didn’t previously have access.

Governor Walz was joined by Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Matt Varilek and Bree Maki, executive director of the DEED Office of Broadband Development; broadband providers.
