State Representative Olson Talks with the B.E. Council about Possible Funding for Water Treatment Facility

The Blue Earth City Council met Tuesday and the meeting opened with Representative Bjorn Olson giving the council an update about possible funding for the water treatment facility.

Olson has been talking with Blue Earth Light and Water officials since the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency came in and said the facility is out of compliance.

All funding possibilities will depend on if there will be a bonding bill this upcoming session.  Olson stated if there is one, he will fight hard to get funding for the Blue Earth water treatment facility.

The council also officially appointed Steve Brown Fire Chief and Ryan Vereide Captain of the Blue Earth Fire Department and Mayor Rick Scholtes read the appointment of boards, commissions and standing committees.
