Texas Man Accused of Sexually Abusing 2 Children In Freeborn County Has Trial Date Set

A trial date has been set for a Texas man accused of sexually abusing children in Freeborn County.

Fifty six year old David Bernard Suess Sr., of Lufkin, Texas, has pleaded not guilty to five counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of and one count of second degree criminal sexual conduct.  Investigators say Suess sexually abused two children under the age of 16 while he was living in Freeborn County between July 2011 and January 2015.

Criminal charges against Suess were filed in March, by which point he had moved to Texas.  A nationwide warrant was issued for Suess.  He was arrested in April in Texas and extradited back to Minnesota to face prosecution.

Suess’ trial is scheduled to start on April 15th, 2024.
