Elmore City Council Approves Starting the Process of Closing the Municipal Liquor Store

The Elmore City Council held their monthly meeting on Monday, where the Council approved starting the process of closing the Municipal Liquor Store.

The ordinance amending Ordinance Number 25 to abolish the “liquor store and to allow retail sales in the city”, was read.

A public hearing and second reading of the ordinance will be held on Monday, January 8th, at 6pm.  The council will act on the ordinance at their regular meeting that same night at 6:30pm.

A letter of resignation was received from Council Member Jen Williams.  The resolution was passed accepting the resignation and declaring a vacancy.

The Council also the 2024 levy at 3.5%.
