A Ringsted woman was killed in a one vehicle accident Friday afternoon, about one mile east of Armstrong.
Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens says the accident occurred around 4:10pm near the intersection of Highway 15 and 170th St.
Martens says an investigation at the scene determined that a southbound 2007 Jeep, driven by 31 year old Hannah Jo Johnson of Ringsted, left the roadway as it entered a curve on Highway 15. The vehicle then rolled multiple times, ejecting Johnson from the vehicle. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Iowa State Patrol, Emmet County Emergency Management, Emmet County Medical Examiner, Armstrong Fire Department and Ringsted Ambulance Service.
