State Patrol Arrests Over 400 People for DWI Over Thanksgiving Weekend

Highway patrols were busy over the Thanksgiving weekend keeping impaired drivers off the roads.

According to the Department of Public Safety, between 2018 and 2022, there were more than 11,000 DWI incidents in Minnesota from the day before Thanksgiving through December 31st.

Minnesota State Patrol Sergeant Troy Christianson says this year’s Thanksgiving weekend had 409 DWI arrests statewide from Wednesday to Sunday.

He added that Minnesota has over 935 more DWI arrests this year than last year at this time.
