The Blue Earth City Council met in regular session on Monday and held the Public Improvement Hearing for the 2024 street and utility improvements.
A large crowd of residents affected by the improvements attended to get the details and ask questions regarding the plans on the full reconstruction on Rice, First and Second Streets at well as maintenance on 10th and 11th Streets.
Bolten and Menk also presented the probable schedule moving forward after Monday’s hearing, which will be to finalize plans and specifications and authorize advertisement for bids in February, consider/accept bids and award the contract in March 2024, with construction going on between May and October of next year. The assessment hearing and approval of assessments in July 2025 and the certify assessment roll and file with the County in December 2025.
After the hearing, the council then approved the resolution to move forward with ordering improvement, preparation of plans and receipt of bids.
