USDA Says Soybean Harvest in MN and Iowa Around, 75% Complete, Corn Nearing 50%

The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service released the crop progress report for Minnesota and Iowa for the week ending October 15th.

In Minnesota, the corn crop was 98% mature.  Corn harvested for grain reached 45% and moisture content at harvest averaged 19%.  Corn condition was 40% good to excellent.

In Iowa, the USDA says 99% of the corn crop had reached maturity.  Corn harvested for grain reached 42% complete and moisture content at harvest averaged 17%.  Corn condition was 51% good to excellent.

Minnesota’s soybeans harvested reached 76%, while in Iowa, soybeans were at 74% harvested.
