UHD Board Member Larry Anderson Named Minnesota Hospital Association’s Trustee of the Year

United Hospital District and Clinics Board Member Larry Anderson has been awarded the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) Trustee of the Year Award for 2023.

The MHA’s Trustee of the Year Award honors a board member of a hospital or health system who has contributed significantly to the health of the community by providing leadership and guidance to the hospital or health system board.

Judgement for the award is based on the following criteria: Assistance with hospital design and delivery of services or programs significant to the health and welfare of the community, the providing of leadership at the local, state, or federal level in initiating and promoting cooperative programs among community members and demonstration of leadership or involvement in the field of hospital governance.

Anderson was first elected to the UHD Hospital board in 1984.  Throughout his tenure, he has held various UHD trustee positions, including Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary.  He has served on many committees, agencies and community groups since then.  Whether at a local, county, state, or even national level, he has always been a voice for rural healthcare.  Nationally, he has also served on the AHA Region 6 Policy Board for several years.
