Construction on New UHD Clinic Expansion Underway in Fairmont

United Hospital District and Clinics recently broke ground on an 8,350 square foot expansion project on their project located at 1950 Center Creek Drive in Fairmont, which will be the future site of UHD Fairmont Clinic.  UHD administrators and medical staff hosted a small ceremony with key community leaders to celebrate the start of construction.

The site, currently known as Dulcimer Medical Center, was purchased by UHD in December 2021 with intent to relocate their existing Fairmont Clinic into the space in March 2024.  Since the purchase, UHD has been working on an expansion and transition plan, which includes identifying both physical and service based needs at the site.

The expansion will add 5,300 square feet of new space on the first floor and 3,050 square feet of new basement space.  Key features include 12 new exam rooms, two new offices, two new nurses stations and two new enhanced procedure rooms, which will allow for additional types and numbers of office based procedures.

Additional technological features are also being installed in areas of the existing building, including improved infection control capabilities and upgraded phone, internet and safety systems.

The expansion project is expected to take approximately 6-8 months.  When complete, it will be connected to the original building, which was constructed in 2008.
