At Tuesday’s Faribault County Board of Commissioners Meeting, the Commissioners went over the proposed draft of meeting protocol and rules of decorum for future meetings for when there’s public comment.
Commissioner John Roper says the proposed draft was approved and adopted. Anyone who comes and speaks in front of the board will have to abide by the 8 new rules and those who fail to abide by these rules will be asked to leave the meeting. The officer on duty during the meeting will escort the person out if necessary.
With the adoption of these rules, the board hopes to preserve the intent of open government and maintain a positive environment for citizen input and commission decision making.
