B.E. Council Receives Update on Riverside Heights Project

At their Monday night meeting, the Blue Earth City Council was updated on the Riverside Heights Utility Expansion Project.

Mayor Rick Scholtes said the city is still in the process of annexing the area into the community.  A grant application is in the works to help offset the $4 million project’s cost.

Because of the time involved between the application period and the process of awarding the grant, Scholtes doesn’t anticipate any construction to begin until 2025.

The plan as of now, is not to have to assess property owners, provided the grant covers the cost of the entire project.
