B.E. Council Votes to Put a Hold on Retail Cannabis Sales in the City Until the State Finalizes Rules and Regulations

At Monday nights meeting of the Blue Earth City Council, the council voted to put a hold on retail cannabis activity in Blue Earth.

Mayor Rick Scholtes says the city will set a moratorium on the sale of cannabis until the state finalizes the rules and regulations concerning the sales and operation of such a business.

The new law went into effect allowing Minnesotans to legally possess and grow their own marijuana August 1st, but the state says most legal retail sales won’t likely begin until early 2025.
