Earlier this week at the Faribault County Board of Commissioners meeting, the commissioners discussed whether the county should have a County Coordinator or a County Administrator. Commissioner Bill Groskreutz says the county has had a coordinator for a number of years, but with all of the new responsibilities added to the Auditor/Treasurer position in the past few years, the board decided to separate the positions.
After much discussion, the board decided to go ahead with the coordinator position and are currently creating the job responsibilities for the position, as they may be different now that the job isn’t together with the Auditor/Treasurer.
A classification and compensation study will now be done and then the County will be advertising for the County Coordinator position.
