At Tuesday’s Faribault County Commissioners meeting, the board received a request from outgoing Interim Auditor/Treasurer Jessica Blair that they approve that two signatures be required on any Auditor related items until a permanent replacement is found.
Commissioner Bill Groskreutz says the board approved the request. On a temporary basis, until the position is filled Public Works Director Mark Daly and Jennifer Luhmann, Public Works Accountant, sign off on any auditor related business.
With Blair’s last day as Interim Auditor/Treasurer being August 10th, Groskreutz says the board approved the hiring of Abdo Solutions of Mankato for temporary accounting services. The price tag for the accountant will be $175,000 to $200,000. The firm will do the auditing work and budget planning for the county, as well as day to day work.
An Accountant from Abdo Solutions will be in the Auditor/Treasurer’s Office three to four days a week until the position is filled full time.
