At Monday night’s Blue Earth City Council meeting, City Attorney David Frundt updated the council on the property at 602 East 7th Street that had been in violation of city code.
The owner of Bruce’s Auto Repair, Bruce Stensland, was in attendance and spoke to the council and informed them that due to some health issues, he’d been in the hospital several days and that had slowed his progress on getting things up to code. Stensland also stated that he felt singled out and that there are two other businesses in town that look to have the same issues on their properties.
The council also received an update from City Administrator Mary Kennedy on the property at 401 S. Galbraith Street, which suffered severe damage from a fire in 2022. A warrant was issued last week to allow an inspector to look at the home and the inspector concluded it was a total loss and should be condemned. The council all agreed to move forward in the process of condemning the property.
