B.E Council Receives Street and Tennis Court Updates

The Blue Earth City Council met Monday night and at the meeting received an update from City Engineer Wes Brown with the on going street projects.  Brown informed the Council that utilities are done on Galbraith and it’s being prepped for gravel base this week.

On Ramsey, two blocks of underground work is complete, with working continuing there the rest of this week and they will move on to Third Street next week.

In two weeks, things will really pick up in that area as three underground crew, a grading crew and a concrete crew will all be busy working on the project to get it done on time.

Brown also gave the Council the updated tennis court design for the tennis/pickleball courts at Putnam Park.

The new courts will be put 20 feet further south and 3 feet further east than where the current courts sit, there will be a five foot concrete sidewalk all around the courts with bleachers on all four sides.

The East Courts in the tennis complex will also be set up with line for four pickleball courts.  The council will now be in the process of accepting bids and hoping to begin some work this fall and have it complete in July 2024.
