One Killed and One Injured in One Vehicle Rollover West of Blue Earth

A one vehicle accident 4 miles west of Blue Earth has claimed the life of a Welcome woman and seriously injured a Fairmont man.

On Sunday, at approximately 4:51am, the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office reponded to an unwitnessed one vehicle rollover located at County Road 16 and 345th Avenue in Jo Daviess Township, in rural Blue Earth.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that the driver, 28 year old Morgan Marie English, of Welcome, was deceased.  A passenger, 25 year old Christian Alfredo Arvizu, of Fairmont, suffered serious injuries and was transported to United Hospital District in Blue Earth by ambulance.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that a 2013 Vokswagon Jetta, traveling eastbound on County Road 16, left the roadway, entered the southbound ditch, struck the culvert on 345th Avenue and rolled over, landing in a beanfield southeast of the County Road 16/345th Avenue intersection.

Alcohol and/or drug impairment may have been a factor in the crash.

Assisting at the scene were the Blue Earth Fire Department, Blue Earth Police Department, UHD Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation by the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance by the Minnesota State Patrol.
