BEA School Board Approves Budget and Addresses Personnel Matters

The Blue Earth Area School Board met on Monday, where they approved the updated budget for fiscal year 2024 that was presented to them by Fiscal Services Director Alan Wilhelmi.

There were also matters of personnel addressed with the approval of two new hires, accepting seven resignations and agreeing to six contracts.  One of the resignations was from Travis Armstrong as a high school science teacher, as he will now have a new position as the Activities Director/Dean of Students.  Armstrong replaces Rob Norman who retired at the end of the school year.

The board also approved the acceptance of donations of $4,654 from Nelson Farms of Blue Earth for activities and $18,371 from Steven Erdahl for a new wrestling mat.

The evaluation of the performance of Superintendent Mandy Fletcher was held in a closed session and the results of the evaluation will be announced at the July School Board meeting.
