At their meeting last week, the Wells City Council heard from Tim Murray, Executive Director with Trinity Sober Homes about a proposed project to bring a Trinity Sober Home to a rural site southwest of Wells.
Murray stated that “Most people are aware of the problems many of our veterans face with PTSD and suicide. A recent Veteran’s Administration study showed that 75-95 percent of veterans with PTSD abused drugs and alcohol.” Murry added that he believes a lack of sobriety is a key root cause of veteran suicide.
According to Murray, his group is working to raise $1.025 million to design, purchase, clean up, remodel and restore a hydroponic farm operation which will be used as a residential sober home exclusively for veterans in the Wells area.
