Blue Earth Light and Water’s Water Department is going to start flushing hydrants and water mains on Monday, April 3rd, it will take approximately 2 – 3 weeks to complete.
Blue Earth Light and Water flushes hydrants and water mains to clean the system of iron and other solids that settle out and accumulate over the summer season.
Light and Water will start at 1st Street and North Rice and work west towards Holland Street. Once they reach 1st Street and Holland, they will to back to 2nd Street and North Rice and head west again.
Blue Earth Light & Water reminds residents that their water supply may become yellow or rusty in color during the time they are flushing.
