Rep. Bjorn Olson Gives Update on Pending Legislation

State Representative Bjorn Olson reports that there are several provisions moving forward in the Minnesota Legislature that would be positive for rural Minnesota.

In K-12 education, Olson said legislation is moving forward that would be important for Fairmont Area Schools and students who aren’t able to take specific classes in their current school districts.  Olson said infrastructure improvement proposals have also been introduced for Blue Earth and Madelia and numerous ag related bills are also under consideration.

In addition, Olson said both temporary and permanent funding sources are being examined for the Small Cities Assistance Program, which helps small towns with their local road repair needs.
