United Hospital District in Blue Earth is pleased to announce they have accepted a donation from Bomgaars Corporation to support women’s heath in the Obstetrics department.
In a press release, UDH says that a check in the amount of $1,262.44 was presented by Bomgaars Blue Earth Store Manager Ali Foth to UHD Chief Financial Officer Patrick Justin. In accepting the donation, Justin stated, “We take a pause to recognize the great efforts by Bomgaars to promote local care for all women’s services provided by UHD. This year, we appreciate the opportunity to use the donation to enhance the experience for new moms in their birthing rooms.
Significant upgrades have been made to the rooms, including new furnishings and conveniences such as refrigerators and desk areas.
For the past six years, Bomgaars has joined with local hospitals, cancer centers and women’s groups to raise awareness of women’s health issues by hosting a night of discounted shopping for women. A portion of the proceeds from the evening’s total sales are donated to the community to help local agencies. The 2022 event was held on October 23rd, 2022. Bomgaars’ announced their total donations for all 107 participating locations was $113,035.71. Ms. Foth indicated that the Blue Earth Store had the most successful night across all stores.
To date, Bomgaars’ Ladies Night donations to UHD total just over $4,400. The funds have been applied towards various women’s health initiatives that directly benefit patients, including enhanced mammography equipment, cape supplies for mammography patients and prior updates to Labor and Delivery rooms.
