A Mankato woman was injured in a snowmobile accident, south of Wells, on Saturday Afternoon.

The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 2011 Polaris snowmobile, being operated by 51 year old Thomas Lee Cain, of Wells, was southbound in the west ditch on Highway 22, near 150th, at approximately 4:42pm Saturday, when his passenger, 54 year old Melissa Ann Wayman, of Mankato, was thrown from the snowmobile.  Wayman sustained two breaks to her left leg as a result of the crash.  It is unknown why Wayman was thrown from the machine or if her leg entered the track, causing the injuries.  According to Cain, speed did not play a factor in the crash.
