B.E. Council Approves New Hanger Proposal at Blue Earth Airport

A letter of intent, from Sean and Crystal Schimmelman, was reviewed by the Blue Earth City Council at last week’s meeting.  The letter stated that the Schimmelman’s intend to build a hanger at the Blue Earth Airport.  The proposed hangar would be used to maintenance and as an avionics facility to support a pipeline surveillance company and local aircraft owners.

The St. Paul couple plan to begin construction in the spring and hope to occupy the building in the summer.

According to Airport Manager Luke Steier, there isn’t any licensed maintenance at the airport and the facility would be a welcome addition.

The Council was pleased with the development and intent, voting to approve the letter and allowing plans to move forward for the hanger.
