The Martin County West Music Department recently reached their funding goals for their Donors Choose campaign to benefit the school’s guitar skills class. Nearly $2,700 was donated by 25 donors, which will allow the district to purchase five brand new Taylor Big Baby acoustic guitars for that class and help get more students involved in music.
Additional donations from the Martin County Area Foundation and the Fox Lake Conservational League means that they will also be able to purchase 10 more guitars to supply instruments for the full class.
In a Facebook post, the MCW Music Department thanked the community for their donations and promised to keep everyone up to date on the new class.
