A recent altercation in Swea City ended with the arrest of one of the participants who allegedly assaulted an animal.
The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a call of a disturbance in Swea City, just after 6pm on November 19th.
Deputies determined the altercation began with a complaint about a dog and that the dog was allegedly assaulted by one of the participants.
Deputies arrested 23 year old Jennifer Marx on charges of Animal Abuse and Interference with Official Acts.
Marx was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. She is due back in court for a hearing on December 14th. A No Contact Order was also issued to prevent Marx from having any contact with the alleged victim in this case.
