A large fire early Thursday morning did severe damage to a Hugoson Pork sow barn south of East Chain. A news release from the Hugoson family states that there were no injuries to staff or emergency responders.
The release goes on to say the fire is believed to have started around 3:30am Thursday. More than 10 area fire departments responded to the fire. The majority of the site is considered a total loss.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
