The Police Departments of Faribault County and the Faribault County Sheriff’s Department will be participating in active shooter training on Wednesday.
Training will take place at Blue Earth Area from 8am to noon and then at United South Central from 1pm to 5pm.
Chief Deputy Scott Adams says the training starts with detailed tours of the buildings at both schools and then will cover what the duties of the first responding officers would be and setting up staging areas and assessing the situation.
Deputies Briar Bonin and Mark Purvis will be conducting the training. The Sheriff’s Department is also planning another training at Genesis Classical Academy in Winnebago on August 31st.
