City of Blue Earth to Conduct Deer Control Program This Fall

The city of Blue Earth will again conduct the deer control program this year.  With the assistance of the Department of Natural Resources, the city will offer a controlled archery hunt in designated areas.

Hunting is by special permit only, with only 20 permits being issued.  The program will be conducted September 17th through December 31st and portable tree stands, supplied by the hunter, will be required.  The hunting area is generally located around Steinberg Park and Leland Parkway.

All hunters must be 18 years old and must attend an archery proficiency test on August 19th, 20th, and 21st.  To apply fill out the form available on the Blue Earth Police Department Facebook page or contact Tharen Haugh at 526-7336.  The application fee is $15 and must be submitted by August 8th.
