Wells Man Charged With Felony Property Damage & DWI After Accident

A Wells man is accused of damaging crops and other property when he ran his pickup off the road earlier this month.

Fifty one year old Christopher Warmka was charged with felony 1st degree damage to property last week in Faribault County Court.

A criminal complaint says Faribault County Deputies responded July 2nd to a report that Warmka had crashed his vehicle on farmland in rural Faribault County.

Investigators says they found extensive damage to three separate fields, with tracks leading to where Warmka allegedly had crashed into a tree, toppling it.

Police say a Mike’s Hard Lemonade was discovered inside Warmka’s pickup.  A blood sample is pending analysis.

The criminal complaint says the damages caused by Warmka far exceeded $1,000, with total damage estimates pending.

He’s also been charged with misdemeanor counts of careless driving, DWI and open bottle.
