Fairmont Seeking Public Input on Ways to Revamp Gomsrud Park

The City of Fairmont is seeking the public’s input on ways in which it can revamp Gomsrud Park.  City Engineer Troy Nemmers said, for the 2022 budget, the Council included $30,000 to hire a consultant to look at park planning for Gomsrud Park.

He said it’s apparent that the park needs improvement.  The pavement also needs improvements made to it and other aspects of the park are outdated.

Gomsrud Park is the most popular and heavily used and arguably the most scenic, with lakes on both sides.

The City put out a Request for Proposal for consultants to help with the planning and SGA Group, a landscape architecture firm based out of Buffalo, was selected.
