Faribault County Commissioners Award More Bids for Courthouse Project

At the Faribault County Board meeting Tuesday, Public Works Director Mark Daly told the board the County parks are open and demand for reservations is high.  A grant has been applied for which would provide for more camping spots.

Daly also mentioned the recent heavy rains had made it necessary to temporarily close some roads leading to Pihls Park.

Commissioner Bruce Anderson says the county has received a bid to reroof the building at Woods Lake Park.  That bid was for just over $8,000.

Sheriff Mike Gormly and Chief Deputy Sheriff Scott Adams were at the meeting to aske the commissioners to adopt a Financial Crimes Task Force Agreement.  The agreement would allow the Sheriff’s Department to work with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to investigate identity theft and related financial crimes.

The board also voted to award the bid for electrical work on the Courthouse Reconstruction Project to Laketown Electric Corporation of Mankato in the amount of $170,000 and approved a bid of $300,000 from Century Construction of Ramsey for the carpentry contract.
