Blue Earth Police Department Investigating After Calls of Someone Drilling Holes into Fuel Tanks

Just before 7am on Sunday, May 1st, the Blue Earth Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center for a report of a large amount of gasoline spilled on the pavement in the parking lot.

After authorities arrived it was determined that a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, belonging to an employee of St. Luke’s had a hole in their fuel tank, which spilled approximately 20 gallons of fuel onto the parking lot pavement.  Authorities believe the hole was caused by someone drilling into it.

In the days since, the Blue Earth Police Department has received two other calls of vehicles having their fuel tanks drilled into during the night.

If anyone has any information on these incidents, please call the Blue Earth Police Department at 507-526-5959.
