BEA School Board Decides on Tennis Court Proposal

The Blue Earth Area School Board discussed new tennis courts at their meeting on Monday night.

The tennis court committee, made up of three Blue Earth City Council Members and three School Board Members, along with some city and school administrators, decided to go with eight courts at the school property and split the cost 60% by the School District and 40% by the City of Blue Earth.  The proposal and recommendation by the joint committee was changed by the City Council recently to be 70% by the school and 30% by the city.  Several School Board members expressed concern with that arrangement.

Superintendent Mandy Fletcher said she and possibly other members of the committee will attend the next Council Meeting to further discuss the proposed tennis court agreement.
