BEA Meets $2.4 Million Budgetary Supplemental Minimum, Able to Add Additional Sections and Staff for Next School Year

As a result of an increase in student enrollment and an influx of dollars from recent federal COVID funds, on Monday evening the Blue Earth Area School Board was able to meet the budgetary supplemental fund minimum of $2.4 million, which had been a goal of Superintendent Mandy Fletchers since she was hired in 2019. 

As a result of the extra funds, the district is able to add some additional sections for the next school year.

Fletcher says several different positions will be available adding both a Kindergarten and 1st grade section. as well as a middle school and a high school STEM sections and adding Driver’s Education.

Also, Fletcher says that due to the increased sections in Kindergarten and 1st grade, additional specialists will likely be needed.
